An Afternoon Hike in Dupont State Forest

Â

Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy (CMLC) invites you to a free walk in Dupont State Forest. They will hike to scenic Bridal Veil Falls, stop there for a while to enjoy the falls, then return via a different route, passing by an old airstrip and stopping briefly at the gazebo on Fawn Lake. Bring your camera to capture the beauty of Bridal Veil Falls.
This is a MODERATE HIKE on existing trails, with a total elevation ascent of about 700 feet in 3 ½ miles. Hikers should be prepared for cold weather hiking, and should be equipped with warm footwear, water and a snack.Â
This is a wonderful opportunity to walk on the land, learn more about the special region we live in and CMLC’s work to protect it, and introduce friends to their local land conservancy. RSVP required, as space is limited. Recent CMLC hikes have filled up quickly, so contact them soon to reserve a spot for you and your guests. E-mail outreach2@carolinamountain.org or call 828-697-5777.
Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy helps landowners protect local land and water resources vital to our natural heritage and quality of life. As a local nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the places you love, CMLC is helping to create a regional network of more than 15,600 acres of protected farm, forest, park and natural lands.
